When an Immigration Court has ordered that person be deported or removed from the United States, but there are compelling humanitarian reasons that the person cannot leave the United States (for example, as U.S. Citizen family members with special circumstances who rely upon this person), it is possible to apply for “Stay of Removal” with Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). These applications are filed directly with the local ICE office. If you are interested in learning more about Stays of Removal, please contact our office for a consultation.
