If you have questions about your current immigration status, how to apply for an immigration benefit, or helping a family member with an immigration process, the first step is to schedule an immigration consultation appointment with one of our licensed attorneys. At an immigration consultation, the attorney will screen you carefully for any issues that could create complications or impact your eligibility to succeed with an application. Our attorneys discuss the applicable laws, processes, procedures, and political realities of your specific immigration situation. We want to take the time to understand your history and the facts of your individual circumstances; we do not give general advice or information at a consultation, but advice that applies to your individual situation.
Our goal is that you leave an immigration consultation meeting better understanding the immigration laws, processes, and procedures that apply to your specific situation. All of our consultations are with licensed attorneys and usually take about one hour of time. We ask that you bring copies of any prior or pending applications you have, USCIS receipt notices for prior or current applications, your passport and U.S. visa if one was issued to you.
We have a charge of $100.00 for an immigration consultation at our Charleston or Bluffton office. We do immigration consultation meetings at local jails, which start at $250.00 for an in person immigration consultation at the Charleston County Detention Center. Consultations requiring more distant travel are charged accordingly and are based on attorney availability.
If you are not fluent in English or Spanish, we highly recommend that you bring someone to your consultation who can translate the conversation for you so that you will be able to fully understand the information discussed at the meeting.
